Digital Mammography uses X-rays to image the breast in detail and is used for the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer. In addition, it can give us clearer information about findings that are observed after palpation of the breast by the gynecologist.
Unlike simple mammography that used film, Digital Mammography uses a digital detector and a computer offering greater accuracy in diagnosis while at the same time it can discover non-palpable pathologies by simple examination. Therefore, it can detect even very small breast cancer, when it has not yet produced any clinical findings.
