More specifically, Rythm Holter involves placing usually seven (sometimes five or even ten) electrodes, which are attached to specific points on the chest. These electrodes communicate with the recording device, which stores the data transmitted by the electrodes. The device is the size of a small mobile phone and can be attached to a special pouch on the patient's belt. In general, the device does not prevent the patient from carrying out his daily activities.

Rhythm Holter (or heart Holter) refers to the continuous recording of the patient's electrocardiogram in conditions of daily activity, for a period of 24 to 48 hours, through the use of a portable electronic device. In this way, the cardiologist can detect heart rhythm disturbances, since these disturbances are usually transient and the electrocardiogram performed on the patients, most of the time, is normal.
